Joseph Smolinski is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota and moved to Connecticut in 1999 to complete his MFA at the University of Connecticut. He currently teaches drawing and art history at the University of Connecticut-Avery Point and Albertus Magnus. His mixed media installations and drawings are based on his interest in electronics, science, and the cycles of life and death. Currently he lives and works in New Haven, Connecticut.
